The annual water quality report which summarizes the treatment reports and water sampling for 2022 is now available here. It is posted on our website, www.lakealpinewater.com and it will be mailed with the May invoices as well as e -mailed directly to customers who receive e-bills.
Lake Alpine Water System has returned to compliance and samples are below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for the disinfection byproducts (DBP) of Haloacetic Acids (HAA) and Trihalomethanes (TTHM). This is a customer notice with GOOD news!
The two granular activated carbon (GAC) filters are working well at reducing organics, the precursors for disinfection byproducts. As a result, we are back in compliance with low levels of HAA and TTHM. The decreasing trend is great news for your water quality, and we are preparing for our GAC filter renovations scheduled for September 2023.
Sample Date | Q2 2022 | Q3 2022 | 10.5.22 | 1.6.23 | MCL |
HAA Site Averages | 78.35 | 64.70 | 19.55 | 29.00 | 60.0 |
Sample Date | Q2 2022 | Q3 2022 | 10.5.22 | 1.6.23 | MCL |
TTHM Site Averages | 71.88 | 78.68 | 71.21 | 47.45 | 80.0 |

There is new funding from California, similar to the financial assistance for power utility bills, that is available for water and waste water customers. It is called Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). Lake Alpine Water Company has completed the steps to be a participating utility for its eligible customers. The program is managed by Eldorado County services. For more information and to apply follow this link and scroll down that page to the water drop.
